Felipe Fuentes, CEO
Felipe Fuentes is CEO of Pacific Coast Capitol Advisors primarily serving employers and associations involved in the infrastructure, entertainment, transportation, and healthcare industries. He is a proven and tested leader with over twenty-five years of experience as both staff and an elected official in state and local government.
Felipe most recently served as a member of the Los Angeles City Council. Elected in 2013, he chaired the Energy & Environment Committee, overseeing the Los Angeles Bureau of Sanitation and the Los Angeles Department of Water & Power. He also served on the Planning & Land Use and Housing committees.
In 2007, Felipe was elected in a special election to the California State Assembly where he chaired the Committee on Utilities & Commerce and eventually the influential Appropriations Committee. He authored and influenced policy decisions in the Legislature spanning every aspect of state government.
Before running for the Assembly, Felipe served as Chief of Staff to then City Council President and now U.S. Senator, Alex Padilla. Prior to that he served as Deputy Mayor of Los Angeles overseeing the San Fernando Valley. Appointed by Mayor James Hahn, Felipe liaised with the Department of Building & Safety, Sanitation Bureau, and the Department of Neighborhood Empowerment among other city departments.
Serving in both legislative and executive branches, as well as state and local government, has given Felipe the education and experience to be successful in government and public affairs. Because of this, he has established a wide network of allies, operatives, and experts across California.
Through his career, Felipe has worked on scores of candidate and issue campaigns. He has a reputation for a “hands on” approach to campaign work, and is literate in polling, media, communications and focus group methodology.
In addition to Felipe’s governmental experience, he has an MBA from the Graziadio School of Business and Management, Pepperdine University, and holds a BA in Political Science from the University of California, Los Angeles.
